Coney Island is closing…fo’ reals this time

So sad, so sad. I didn’t believe the rumors that have been circulating for years. But now that it’s become headline news, I’m really starting to miss it already. I really did believe I would continue to photograph it throughout the years. I wanted to create a series on so many things there. I wanted to photograph the homeless and the random old people that always walk the boardwalk. Especially in the summer where you have these eclectic and often strange people that come from wherever. And the structures themselves, I always wanted to shoot the rides and buildings in the winter. Wanted that decaying look, but now that they are selling it all. They are already selling the bumper cars, but I love the bumper cars! I went this summer and that was so much fun.
