Let me introduce myself. You can call me JoJo. I’m what would be Kristinas older sister, if either of us had sisters, and sisters actually had as much in common as we do.
Anyway, I have ventured into the world of online dating. Not even just that, but Craigslist dating. Not just for free meals and sex either. (that’s nasssty.) I’m kinda looking for quality and class. However, I have to keep reminding myself “this is Craigslist”. So far I have had 3 dates. The 4th will be manana.
Date 1 – Distinguished Foreign Gentleman
I think he did fit all those words also. However, he was almost 10 years older than me. We conversed over coffee…
Positives – Very intelligent and cultured and worldly.
Negatives – Felt like too much of a jokster for him. His big cheek mole which wasn’t visible in his photo. His big belly.
Outcome – Great for coffee with “they guy with a turtleneck”
Date 2 – Aimless Introverted Photographer
Once again, this man was older than me also. 10 years. Maybe I should not try that anymore. He had very ecclectic tastes in music and film, and liked photography. We meandered thru the Fine Art Museum. His hands were shaking when he handed me the “admission sticker”.
Positives – different, tall, um…
Negatives – Kept wanting to talk about photography, my photography, as the whole focal point of the date. Didn’t seem to have any big plans in life but “to own a boat”. Conversation and dialog reminded me of my father. Asking too many deep questions i’m not comfortable with answering.
Outcome – 4
Date 3 – Pierre la Americana
My age. Has a child. (don’t think I want that, yet.) Seafood dinner. Tourist window shopping.
Positive – My age. Polite.
Negative – Child. Seems kinda normal. No “snowflake” qualities. Like, what makes you you, dude?
Outcome – 5.5 (maybe more personality will come out.)
PS. he called me this evening, and I have yet to check voicemail. maybe that should be changed to a 4.75.
I’m starting to think that these people are trying to be so polite and nice/normal. I want to know YOUR personality however. Not just the fact that you like the 1920s or you sold real estate or you’re a native Floridian. That’s good to know too, but… yadda yadda yadda.
I’m looking to date 4 however, tomo.
Date 4 – Intelligent, Mensa, Smithsonian, Sarcastic
Been talking to him on the phone last couple days, and i’ve noticed a personality, which is great. talked an hour tonight. I’m actually really looking forward to tomo. He reminds me alot of a guy I knew back home and had a crush on. We’d always get drunk, “fight”-wrestle and make out. (no, not sex.) however, the one time we did have sex, it just wasn’t a good idea. I hope this doens’t turn out like that.
